Officially Plugged In Interview:
Do you watch for casting calls and
auditions online? Jason: Absolutely. I have several sites bookmarked on
my computer. Not only do I check them every couple of days, I also
get email alerts from several different sites. My agent does a great
job of keeping me busy, but I like to see what's out there too.
When you plan to meet with someone
in the industry, do you research them online first? Jason: Most definitely. If I am meeting with a casting
agent or a director, I will look them up and see what kind of work
they do. I also look them up on IMDb and see if they've worked with
anyone that I know. If they have, I'll give them a call and ask
them what I should or, more importantly, should NOT do. I want to
be as prepared as possible whenever I am meeting someone that could
help further my career. Most actors forget that we are the product
that we're trying to sell to a director or casting agent.
What type of things have you looked
for online that deal with acting? Jason: I read alot of articles and blogs written by working
actors. Anyone with an internet connection can post anything they
want online. I am only interested in reading something that can
help me in this business.
